Cam Striker Kozlowski

So... we had a baby! I went to bed on Sept 12th and woke up at about 1am feeling some braxton hicks contractions. I laid in bed for about a half hour and couldn't get back to sleep. The little contractions started to get a little stronger. I woke Jared up at about 1:30 and told him to time them. Over the next half hour they started to get more intense and I felt like we should definitly get to the birth center. Jared called the midwife on call and Robin to meet us down there. Fortunetly Chris was in Springville so he came over at 2am to be with Crew. I listened to my ipod on the way over there trying to distract myself from the pain by doing hip hop choreography in my head but the contractions in the car were pretty painful! We walked into Better Birth in Orem and I had a really intense contraction on the waiting room couch and I felt pushy!! They took me back to a bed and I had a couple more contractions there while they were filling up the tub. I felt like I could have pushed him out right on that bed in a few minutes. My midwife looked at me and said its now or never if you want to get in the tub. I don't think I've ever ripped my clothes off faster in my life and I practicely dove in that tub. It was an immediate relief to feel the hot water. I pushed for 19 minutes and he was out! It was hell!! No pain I've ever experienced is even in the same universe as having a baby naturally! So ya I had him in a tub of water, which was great and the hot water was comforting but still very painful! I remember breathing the biggest breaths of relief while they laid him on my chest and I held my new baby for the first time. I think I just held him there in the water for probably 20 minutes in complete relief and happiness that he was out before I handed him over to do all the little tests and measuring. Robin got there about 15 minutes after I had him, that's how quick he came! I was in labor for 2 hours total and I had him about half an hour after we got to the birth center! So we kinda barely made it! In true Kozlowski fashion, were late to everything right :) So with the birth center package I had we could only be there for 4 hours after they deemed me stable so we were home by 8:30am with our new baby boy! There are prob lots of details I'm leaving out as I'm writing this 11 months later. But all in all the birth center and water birth was a good experience and only cost about $2300 total ($800 of which was for 2 ghogam shots I had to get since I have a negative blood type) So going the hippie route was definitely a money saver! It took us 5 days to finally give him a name. Cam Striker Kozlowski and were head over heels in love with him!!! Photobucket

Been forever sheesh!!

So this has been quite the lonely blog lately! My last real post was almost a year ago! To be honest I have been avoiding blogging like the plague, because I am SO behind on it, its kind over overwhelming. But I've decided I don't want to avoid it any longer. I was just looking back through all the many posts on here and I'm really happy I took that time to do all those blogs! I'm sure it will be even more of a treat to look back on in 10, 20..50 years! so I'm just going to take it one post at a time.. Coo?

My new venture

Ok I know I need to post pics of the baby, I will get to it. But for now this is the lastest project I have been working on. I know I have already said we took over our basement and have been remodeling it a bit. My main focus has been my spa room, this is what it looked like...

Before:
spa room before

and after:

There are still a couple more things I want to do to it. I ordered a electric fireplace to put in there. It gets a little chilly in the basement in the winter and I thought what could be better then a warm, flickering fireplace when your getting a facial! Here is a picture of it, I can't wait to get it!!

Photobucket

The main thing I want to do is rip out the carpet and put in a nice wood or engineered wood or laminent floor. I also have a mirror to hang probably over the fireplace when I get it and I want to get my license/graduation certificate etc.. framed and put on the wall. But for now I think it looks pretty good and I'm really excited about it!!

So I am officially doing aesthetic services out of my house now, I made a little blogspot to post my services list, prices, pictures etc.. Check it out http://ashslashes.blogspot.com/ go ahead and follow it too. Ill be posting skin care tips, specials I'm running etc...

Provo Canyon

This was yesterday, Kass and I took Shelby and Crew for a bike ride up the canyon to Bridal Veil. I rollerbladed, and too far apparently for being 9 months pregnant. On the way back down we had to have Blake come rescue me haha. My body just kind of gave up and every step hurt, I was SO sore yesterday and could hardly walk. Sometimes I just think I can do more then I probably should right now. Either way we had a good time. It was nice and cool up at the waterfall, such a treat!

Deer Valley

A few weeks ago my good friend Kass and I spend the weekend up at her parents townhouse in Deer Valley. We shopped at the P.C. outlets, swam, layed out, ate, watched a movie. It was really nice to just relax and hang out together for a couple days.

King Soopers

An ode:

This is my favorite grocery store in the CO. It has probably been the best part about living here :)

Photobucket

1- They have these awesome grocery carts with kids TV shows in them! No more Crew wanting to be out of the cart, running up and down the isles probing me to buy every oreo, cheeto, and sour gummy worm in the store.

Photobucket

Photobucket

2- They have 2 mechanical horsie rides for.. yes that is a cent sign not a $ sign. For the grand price of 1 penny your child can have a 1 minuteish ride on a antique horse. Crew loves it!

3- They always have lots of stuff on sale, and they carry the Kroger generic brand which I really like. Can't beat their $.99 boxes of cereal!

4- Probably the best part though is I have not been to the Wally in over 2 months since I found it, now that's exciting!

Trip Back Home

In June I took Crew and I and Beef back home to Utah for a week and a half, mostly just to visit and spend time w/ friends and fam.

Photobucket

Troops all suited up for the long car ride. Its about 9 - 10 hours with stops. Kind of a long way for this pregnant mama to go all by herself. Crew is a great traveler though and makes it pretty easy, also much of the drive is really pretty! lots to look at!

Photobucket

In Vail, Co at "old mcdonolds" for a bathroom break. I needed a lot of those.

I wasn't expecting too much from this little fair, but it was actually really fun! They had lots of great kiddie rides that Crew loved, yummy food and great entertainment too, nice job Springville! We'll be back next year!

Next up we took a hike up to Bridal Veil falls with my dad.

Midget and I went and ate at Sizzler one night and he insisted on wearing that pink headband. Did you know Sizzler has amazing rolls with honey butter whey bring out to every table that give Texas Roadhouse rolls a run for their money? They also have bomb strawberry lemonade!

Photobucket

We took Beef for a walk around the neighbor at dusk and the mosquitos ate him alive, poor dog! He must be allergic to them or something because they blow up HUGE on him, look at the one above his eye!

I got to hang out with a few friends while I was there too! Went to Veterans pool with Laura, had lunch at Olive Garden with Lisa, pool party at Kass's parents house, got mt my lashes done by Chez, did Heather's Lashes. We had a great trip! I'm super excited to come home for good in 2 WEEKS NOW!
