VEGAS TRIP

This past weekend I headed down to Las Vegas with my best friend Kass Henson to go visit our other best friends Brooke and Carolyn and have a girls only weekend. The days leading up to going down Kass and I could hardly contain our excitement, 3 whole days and nights with no kids, no husbands, no dogs, no houses, no cleaning, no responsibilities, we were stoked to say the least. Don't get me wrong were nuts about our hubbys and our kids but sometimes us girls need a break. We drove down Thursday evening, Kass was nice enough to drive her Tahoe, yes we spent a small fourtune on gas, but all of Kass's and Blake's and all of mine and Jared's cars are ALL gas guzzlers, so our options were limited. It was nice to have all that time to just talk, made the drive go by super fast too, we got down there in no time it felt like, we got there at like 830 pm and were tired and just wanted to chill so we stayed in our room and talked forever and went to bed. We stayed at South Pointe hotel casino, which is a gem in Las Vegas. I don't think we could have picked a better place to stay, its not expensive and its super nice, we only paid $79 a night ON THE WEEKEND. If you stayed on the strip for that price you'd be at circus circus or some other ghetto hotel. Our room was super clean and roomy, it had a big bathroom and a big flat screen T.V. mounted on the wall, ya in a standard room. Friday morning we jogged over to the dog park I used to take beef stew to everyday when we lived in Vegas 2 summers ago and back to get our workout in, then Kass was itching to head over to H&M so we found out there was one at the "town square" mall, which is a brand new outdoor mall with a bunch of nice restaurants and above all a whole foods market, possibly the best store on the planet. Town Square is alot like the gateway, we didn't even feel like we were in Las Vegas when we were there, its super nice. We did a bunch of other shopping there before heading back to the hotel to meet Carolyn at the pool, which is super nice. This was the only warm sunny day out of our trip so we took full advantage and laid out for a good chunk of the afternoon. It started to get super windy so we ended up in the ginormous hot tub along with everybody else and reminisced about old times and such. That night Kass and I headed back to town square to eat dinner at Claim Jumper, my favorite restaurant in the world, Jared and I used to eat there almost every weekend when we lived in Las Vegas so I had to go. We did a bit more shopping then met up with Brooke to continue our night on the town. She took us to Tao at the Venetian to go dancing. There was a huge line to get in and a $50 cover charge, but we were with Brooke, this girl has mad crazy hookups and knows everyone in that town, we walked right past the line and into the club and didn't pay a dime either, I love having hip single friends. This dance club was crazy, huge, extravagant and like nothing I have ever seen, Kass and I definitely weren't in Kansas anymore. Now I know what some of you might be thinking, Ash your a mom, LDS and married why would you want want to go to a club like that? Its the dancer in me, I can't help it, I can only go so long before I need to go jam out and shake it on the dance floor to super loud hip hop music. We wasted no time and headed straight to the main dance floor, let go of all inhibitions and rocked out, there is something about freestyle dancing to those hard hitting beats and just letting go and letting my body do whatever feels natural that is very healing, stress-relieving and not to mention totally fun. We only stayed for about an hour and and half before taking off, headed straight back to the hotel and crashed. The next day we slept in and spent the entire afternoon at the spa, we didn't get any treatments but you can pay them $25 to use the facility, they have a eucalyptus steam room, sauna, pool, hot tub, nice lounge areas, it was a little bit of heaven, when we left there we felt like a million bucks. We got ready and met Carolyn for dinner at Claim Jumper AGAIN, It was so fantastic I had to go back. Afterward we shopped around and met Brooke back at the hotel, we were just going to go back to our room and chill and talk, but we walked by the BINGO room and noticed that people were filing in there and buying their bingo cards, Kass was not about to miss out on this so we played. Get this it only costs $4 for 13 games and you get 9 cards to play each game, now you can pay more and if you do the pay outs are just bigger if you win, I figured for $4 I didn't have much to lose. It was actually REALLY REALLY fun, and a little embarrassing, I called out bingo when I didn't really have it, I got a bingo but we were playing double bingo, meaning you have to get 2 bingo's on one card to win, I was unaware of this. I'm pretty sure everyone in the room thought we were retarded, we were also the youngest people in there, I know your shocked right. The next day we headed back to Provo, but not before playing bingo again and meeting up with Brooke at Ihop for one last whoo-ra. We spent a good part of the drive back jamming out and singing as loud as we could to N'sync, Backstreet boys, miley cyrus, grease soundtrack, danity kane, pussycat dolls and many many more. I had SOOOOOO much fun on this trip, laughed so hard and grew even closer to my already close friends, especially Kass, I love you like a sister and I know we'll be super close friends always.
