Hikin and rollerbladin

Yesterday I took my cousin Nikki hiking to Stuart falls. Its one of my most favorite hikes. I LOVE the air up there, I LOVE the trees, I LOVE being above the city and surrounded by gods beautiful creations, I LOVE the friendly people on the trail, I LOVE all the dogs we meet along the way and I LOVE letting my son experience and enjoy nature.

Here she is. I love this waterfall so much, its one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen and it never ceases to take my breath away every time I see it.

Here is another shot, I really could have stayed up there all day long, stared at this, breathed in the fresh air and been totally happy.

And last week Darise and I rollerbladed from Riverwoods to Bridal Veil Falls and back. I'm so glad Darise is my friend. She has a ton of awesome qualities but the reason I love her the most is that she is REAL. Do you know what I mean? I mean she doesn't pretend to be perfect or put on a my life is amazing face if its not. If she is having a bad day or things aren't going her way she will tell you. Not in a debbie downer kind of way, but in a good, this is just how it is way and its really refreshing. I really like hanging out with her.

I have been thinking there is ONE more month of summer left, there are still so many things I want to do, I better get on it.

SO FUN! I've been dying to go back there since the last time we hiked it (like 3 years ago was it? geez!)
And big yay for the non-pretender friends. I hate it when people put up the perfect front. Drives me nuts!

John and I hiked Stuart Falls right before we moved to MN. We then went to a waterfall here and it paled in comparison. It's such a great place. Love it!
