6 Tunnels to Hoover Dam Half Marathon

Gosh its been forever since my last post. Not much has been all that blog worthy, Except that I finally ran the half marathon I'd been training for since December. It was March 14th in Boulder City, NV just outside of Las Vegas. I went down there with Kass Thurs-Sun. It was a great girls weekend and a lot of fun. I didn't bring my camera to the race because I did not want to have it on me the whole run, and it was a ways from our car to the start line. But thanx to Zazoosh.com, who were there taking pictures I have some to post

Just starting off on the paved portion of the race. There were 1100 runners between the half marathon, relay and 5k.

This was a St. Patricks Day event so almost everyone was wearing green and some people got pretty decked out, like this guy

And check out these little dude's bookin it, I'm not sure if they were in the half marathon or not, probably more likely that they did the relay or the 5k, but either way that's pretty impressive

This race was FUN, EXCITING, GRUELING and extremely challenging for me. I was pretty ok the first 8 miles, the next 2 started getting really hard and the last 3 miles may have been the most physically challenging experience of my life, next to natural childbirth. I had 2 goals going into this race, I wanted to cross the finish line and run the whole time, I did both. When I finished I felt so amazing, I was so proud of myself. I set a goal, worked hard to achieve it and I did it. I finished in 2 hours 36 minutes. Which was great for me and my first race. WHAT A AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!

Congratulations! What a huge accomplishment. Is this your first of many or your last? I'm sure that was fun to do it with Kass. I miss both of you so much!

and I'm so with you on the dieting. I have got to stop. I always get insanley deprived and then go nuts the SECOND I stop the diet. It's a stupid, vicious cycle, and I'm officially getting off the boat! (or train, or bike, or whatever cycle-y thing I happen to be on) ha ha! We need to work out, take our dogs for runs, and be healthy, and eat all the yummy stuff we want!
