Gone But Not Forgotten

Ok I'm just going to say it, I'm a reality t.v. show addict. I mean, admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery right? Yesterday I was thinking about all the old reality shows I used to love that are no longer with us. So here are some thoughts and memories about them, an ode:

Strip Search on VH1: If you missed this gem that was on during the summer of 05 I feel very bad for you. It was a nation wide search trying to find guys to train to be apart of "The Thunder From Down Under" male review in Las Vegas. Hilarious: Jared and I watched it religiously

The Search For The Next Pussycat Doll: Aired in 07, I loved this show. Asia, the winner who was chosen to be in the Pussycat Dolls, decided soon after winning she did not want to be apart of the group so she could pursue a solo singing career. Haven't heard from her since.

this was the top 3, Asia is on the far right

Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious: This was Robin Antins (the pussycat dolls Creator) attempt to put together the next big girl group, to follow in the footsteps of the pussycat dolls. I saw a music video of them a while after the show, and they were totally skanked out, like worse then the PCD. I haven't heard from them since then. I'm sure the name Girlicious isn't helping them out.

8th and Ocean: This show followed the lives of young models trying to make it in Miami. No second season boo hoo

Are You Hot?: This was a show that judged contestants on non other then their looks. Basically a co-ed beauty pageant minus the talent and interview. Awesome!

Power Girls: This show followed young girls who worked for Lizzie Grubmans PR firm in NYC. Why no second season? loved this one

Temptation Island: This ones really old. 4 couple's at a crossroads in their relationship were brought to a tropical paradise with lots of attractive single men and women. The single's would flirt with them and try to get them to cheat on their significant other. Could their love with stand temptation? This show was straight up wrong, yet I could not stop watching.

Paradise Hotel: I can't even remember what the point of this show was, I just remember I really liked it. Another really old one

Making The Band: When they were putting Danity Kane together. Pre Aubry skanked out

The day they made the group

Paradise City: This shows setting was Las Vegas. Since I used to live there it was fun for me to watch it and recognize almost everywhere they went. Also I met April (the brunet on the far right) one of the summers I lived in Las Vegas, before she did the show. So it was fun to watch her.

Laguna Beach: I saved the best for last. I'm not sure why I liked this show so much, I think it was because of Kristen Cavellari, she was just a really fun, interesting character. And maby also because of the fact I desperately want to live in Laguna Beach or at least have a house there some day (a girl can dream right?). Maby all the high school drama just sucked me in. Alas Kristen has said she will never do another reality t.v. show, MTV has offered her numerous deals.

That's about all I can think of, What were your favorites?

I always love the classic "Real World" and my favorite skanky one is Rock of Love, however, I haven't watched this season. I honestly can say though I have never seen any of the ones you listed. I sure I'm missing out!

You didn't even mention Flavor of Love? (first season). We used to come to your house every week to watch. That show was so trashy yet we watched it (and loved it) all the way to the end.

Holy Crap! I thought I was the only one!!! Did you ever watch the one with Ashley Angel from O Town, when his girlfriend was prego and a total wench? That was great TV. Rick gets so pissed at me for watching the "trash" as he likes to call it.
I'm currently a "Real Housewives of OC" junkie. Gotta love those women!!!!

Laguna Beach was always my favorite. I did watch Power Girls, Girlicious (dumbest name ever), and the search for the next pussycat doll. I was furiuos when I found out Asia said no. Haven't seen her around since, I'm guessing that decision isn't haunting her in the least. :)
I'm with you though. Reality TV is awesome. I'm 100% addicted and love it all. Oh hey, The Hills premiere is this month! I'm so excited!
