The seawall in Kona, We came down to Kona quite a few times, mostly to go to costco and walmart for groceries, food was a good 30% more then in Utah at these stores but was still the best deal. There was a grocery store in Waikoloa where we were staying we renamed "The most expensive grocery store on the planet" $9 for a gallon of milk, $12 for a Gallon of OJ, $20 for a pack of 30 diapers ( which I did pay once when we were desperate and out of diapers ) it was madness.

I could not believe this tree, check out those roots

In the rental car, Dodge Charger baby

This is the main drag in Kona, Alli drive (A-lee-e) We met 2 missionary's at their nice apartment complex they lived in right on this street, they had it pretty rough

Beautiful sunset in Kona

All the locals told us this was the best place to eat on the island "Hawaiian Style" in Waimea, a very charming small town about a half hour North of Waikoloa up in the hills. Its was soooooooo good and I couldn't believe the portions

This was my breakfast, yes just for me. The omelete was about the size of a small loaf of bread, the has browns the size of a burrito and each pancake easily bigger then my head

This is all I could tackle on the pancakes. Pretty sure I got all my calories for the day at this meal

Here's a pic of Waimea, I wish I would have gotten some better pics. It was so pretty there. We went to church twice in this town and we loved it, the members we so great and super nice to us. If you look far in the distance there is snow on the mountains

We got shaved ice at this stand in Waimea, We got the rootbeer float, It has rootbeer in the bottom of it, ice cream in the middle, soaked in rootbeer syrup with sweetened condensed milk drizzled over the top. It was soooooooooo yummy.

Driving down the hill from Waimea, the pic does it no justice, it was such a pretty view

Some random locals beach we stopped at

Beautiful. Kona is where I ran my marathon. It looks as though maybe a few of the pictures were taken along the route. We ran the ironman route. I'm glad you guys had a great time.
Good Times! Would love a tropical vacay as well. Those pancakes look delicious!
We need to do lunchy/dinner soon!
And are you going to the Britney concert?
Email me (cause I deleted my blog, had too sorry love)

WHAT EM! you ran a marathon? in Kona no less. when was that? You are my hero once again
It's so beautiful over there. I'm glad you had such a good time.
1. I stifled a sob as I saw my beautiful Kona street/sea wall/ funky hotel pointing out into the sea for the first time in 6 years.
2. That tree is awesome. I totally have a pic of me and Melanie in front of that tree. (Melanie...boo.)
3. I need to show gym that picture that says "Free shaved ice for seniors" I bet he'd fly all of us all the way to Kona just to collect. "Free senior" stuff is his absolute FAVE.
4. The insane gas/milk/OJ prices are worth it. Totally worth it to live in paradise.
5. I'm glad you had fun, but I'm so glad you're home! I missed you. (you FELT really far away - seriously!)
