Never buy a puppy from a pet store!

WHY? Because 99% of them come from puppy mills. What is a puppy mill? They are "dog factories" of sorts where the people that run them are much more concerned about profit then the care and well being of the animals. I'm not going to go into detail about why they are so horrible as to not depress anyone, but trust me puppy mills are horrible places where no dog should ever have to be. If you want to know more information google "oprah puppy mill" She did a show on them a while back. You might say:

If I buy a puppy from a pet store aren't I saving a puppy mill dog?

All you are doing is fueling that awful industry, and putting money right back into the puppy mill operation and allowing the people that run them to breed more and more dogs there.

The bottom line is :

If people stopped buying puppies from pet store's (and at online puppy auction sites) puppy mills would have no one to sell there dogs to, and there for stop breeding them.

SO PLEASE: If you are in the market for a puppy or dog or kitten or cat please adopt one from a animal shelter or rescue group. You can find any breed at any age, male or female at these places. 50% of dogs at animal shelters are pure bread dogs. And there are many breed specific rescue groups in your area. And if you know of anyone who is in the market for a dog or cat please tell them what you read here. The best way to stop the puppy mill operation is to get the word out and let everyone know not to buy there puppies/kittens at pet stores.
